• Question: Do you think a zombie apocalypse is ever likely to occur?

      No, I really do not think that zombies are likely to emerge and start taking over the world. Don’t take me wrong, zombie movies are awesome and the whole idea of dead people walking around to be shot by brave citizens is neat, but there is no physiological basis at all for this. We may see a viral pandemic some day that makes people aggressive, etc. but it is very hard to imagine the entire set-up of ‘zombie apocalypse’ to materialize – too many specific things about zombies just do not agree with the basic principles of how our bodies function…

      Don’t be too sad about this – it’s a very good thing that zombies aren’t real. A scenario like that would be nightmarishly hard to survive and the loss of friends, relatives, and pretty much everyone else around you would be beyond tragic. Survivors of this kind of an event are near-certain to become mad in one way or another…

      Depends on what viruses or parasites evolve. I doubt it though. In terms of the types of zombies, I am more thinking of 28 days later, where people are alive but have ben infected and their brains damaged, rather than people coming back to life after being bitten.
