Yes, of course. To tell you the truth, the biggest reduction in my social life was caused by having a child. I do not regret one bit – my kid is much more fun than all the science combined – but I wanted to put things in perspective. Science is a walk in the park compared to the time and effort needed for bringing up children.
Lol, yes 🙂 Football is a big part of mine. We usually enter 6 aside tournaments in Fife, but at the moment we have been relegated from the “Champions league” to the “Shield” tournament. At least we are in a chance of a win of a trophy. Our team is called the Whip Inn Boys. Apart from that, we usually go out on Friday nights to the pub and student union, play pool, do fun stuff like “Go Ape”, zip lining across forests etc. Also, the guys and I like having an xbox night, have pizza, a few beers, whisky etc whilst playing Gears etc at someones house. At St Andrews parties on the beach are fun, as well as bbqs in the sun 🙂
Oh yes, definitely. There’s nothing better than meeting up with your friends to catch up. The only problem is that my friends are now all spread out but this is a great excuse to have weekends away to visit them! A group of us are going to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August (five of us who are all scientists as it happens!) so it’s definitely not all work, work, work.
