      Hi Monique

A lot of the research I have done in the past has built on previous research that myself and other people have done so, in that way, yes, the knowledge that I have acquired has been applied in real-life. My job at the moment focuses on teaching so I use examples from research in my teaching. Also, it’s really important when teaching university students about being a scientist that you cover all the skills needed, not just the knowledge. All of the other stuff is just as important – like how to conduct an experiment well, how to write things up clearly, etc.

P.S. I noticed that your favourite scientist is Sheldon – good choice!
