I love zombies! Unfortunately, zombies do not seem to exist at least in the movie sense where zombies are dead people reanimated by magic, or virus, or a chemical etc.

There seems to be some credibility to the legend of zombies being entranced humans, supposedly treated with neurotoxic compounds by a shaman – these compounds would suppress free will somehow and render the vicitm into a human puppet. Not sure how real those stories are, though.

The only good thing about zombies is when I have a double barrelled pump action shotgun in one hand and they blow up..

Luckily they don’t exist, but zombie like states in humans can be created by hypnosis. However, drugs can have that effect too, such as scopolamine, a drug used in South America by thieves etc on victims. in terms of things coming back to “life” as an animated corpse after being killed though, that doesn’t exist.

Reanimated corpses definitely do not exist but there have been reports of Governments attempting to place people in a “zombie-like state” in order to control them. For instance, the CIA’s very illegal MKULTRA project in the 1950/60s was aimed at researching methods of being able to control people through mind control… They obviously weren’t very successful but it provided us with a very funny book called “The Men who Stare at Goats”. It’s a great read and was recently made into a film starring George Clooney.

However, if zombies do rear their ugly heads, I’ve read Max Brook’s Zombie Survival Guide and will “run to the hills”; in the wise words of Iron Maiden!
