No, you should always follow your interests. If you are getting bullied you should try speaking to your parents or a teacher but don’t give up on something you really like 🙂

Absolutely not! Try to ignore the bullies. The bullies won’t be around for ever and you should stick to who you are and what really interests you. Don’t do something just to please others.

After you leave school those people won’t matter anymore. if you have got the drive and apply yourself, you will do well and go to University, where you will meet people who like science and have many fun times with them. Those people doing you down would have picked on someone anyway for something else if they were not picking on you. It’s not about the science, they just love the power etc.

The thing is, if you look at the people who do well in the economy with jobs, subjects that people think as geeky such as science or computer science are where people have a lot of success can make a nice living . There are many opportunities and rewards for people who study science

The important thing to do is what Caroline and Alison have suggested. Talk to your friends, teachers or parents etc.

      1) as others suggested, seek help from people you trust. Right now.
      2) to the extent possible, stop interacting with the bullies. It is often easier said than done – hence point 1 is more important.
      3) if someone bullies you for something you’re doing, then you’re doing something worthwhile because bullies often go after someone who has something they want but cannot have.
