What would you take out of the burning house? The fire!
It’s a question that has many kinds of answers depending on what you mean by ‘end of the world’. If you mean it in the standard Armageddon-esque sense then there’s no point in saving anything since everything gets destroyed anyway. If you mean it as ‘end of human civilization’ then I would save as many books as possible (computers will die without power and maintenance so no point saving digital data). I would try to save a balanced set of books but at a minimum: medicine, agronomy, engineering, animal husbandry, mining, materials science and a collection of humanities…
That is an unbelievably hard question to answer but I’ll attempt it. I think I would want to preserve knowledge in some way through books and media but, ultimately, I’d save my family and friends; as I’d be pretty lonely after the end of the world otherwise.
If the world was ending I assume you mean all of humanity would be wiped out…
I’d have a time capsule containing as much knowledge/ pictures etc I could put onto a usb stick – any aliens visiting earth would have the technology or would be able to read that 🙂
