At the moment, I am in the final year of my Ph.D. Results make me happy as I don’t have long left 🙁

I love the fact that my experiments have a strong practical side – making better/more food for people. Also the fact that I get to work with so many really smart people in a number of different disciplines. There’s not a day that goes by without me learning something.

I love that I’m working at the frontier of a completely new area in nuclear science. Any new results (good or bad) are extremely exciting!

I like the variety. There is aways something different happening. I work in a university and we do lots of research that has never been done before. It’s a really good environment to work in.

The fact that it almost never gets boring! Sometimes it is difficult, sometimes it is frustrating, but its very varied and there is always something new to think about or a new experiment to try.
