Well, I think one of the reasons I stand out is because I work in area which is considered to be very controversial by a lot of people. The nuclear industry has always had a bad reputation and the reason why I started work in this area was to fight those opinions. So, I suppose what makes me different than the others is that my research doesn’t just affect science but may have the potential to effect the energy sector politically and economically as well.

Well, I would use the money to help expand our podcast “Hitchhiker’s Guide to Nuclear” (a light-hearted look at nuclear science). It’s really important to me that this podcast grows. It is a great way to get the correct message out there as to what nuclear energy is really about and to demonstrate how it is not the demon the media would lead us to believe. This type of outreach is really important as it’ll help improve relations between nuclear science and the public. Here’s our podcast website (http://nuclearhitchhiker.blogspot.co.uk)
